Rediscover hard rock history with the 2024 remastered Deluxe Edition of UFO’s seminal 1977 release, Lights Out. Originally released in May 1977, the record marked the band's commercial peak and became their biggest hit to date, climbing to No. 23 on the US charts.
Produced by Ron Nevison, the album captures UFO at the forefront of the late-’70s hard rock scene. Driven by the searing guitar work of Michael Schenker and the arena-ready vocals of Phil Mogg, Lights Out brilliantly integrated keyboards from Paul Raymond and subtle string arrangements without sacrificing its raw power.
Key Highlights:
- "Lights Out" – The electrifying title track inspired by the Notting Hill Riots.
- "Love to Love" – The sweeping, proto-power-ballad epic famously cited by Iron Maiden's Steve Harris as his favorite song.
- Essential Cuts – Melodic hard rock favorites including "Electric Phase" and "Just Another Suicide."
- Deluxe Live Content – Includes a concert recording from the tour opener at London's Roundhouse (April 2, 1977), newly mixed by Richard Whittaker.
