Rediscover one of the definitive R&B anthems of the early 2000s with Toni Braxton's "He Wasn't Man Enough". Released by LaFace and Arista Records as the powerhouse lead single from her third studio album, The Heat (2000), this release marked an electrifying, uptempo evolution from Braxton's classic ballads.
Helmed by heavyweight producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins—and co-written with Fred Jerkins III, LaShawn Daniels, and Harvey Mason, Jr.—the track pairs a distinct, rhythmic pulse with Braxton’s signature sultry, husky vocal delivery. Widely acclaimed by critics upon its debut, the anthem was lauded by outlets like Entertainment Weekly and NME, and earned the #17 spot on Rolling Stone's list of "The 100 Greatest R&B Songs of the 21st Century."
