Six years in the making, virtuoso bassist and singer-songwriter Thundercat delivers his fifth studio album, Distracted, released via Brainfeeder. Produced alongside Greg Kurstin, the 2026 record is celebrated as Bruner's most focused and cohesive project to date, translating themes of modern love, anxiety, and heartbreak into a dazzling blend of alternative R&B, funk, psychedelic neo-soul, and electric jazz fusion.
The album showcases Thundercat's signature hyper-kinetic basslines, razor-sharp humor, and an all-star cast of guest contributors across essential tracks, including:
- "No More Lies" featuring Kevin Parker (Tame Impala)
- "I Did This To Myself" featuring Lil Yachty
- "Funny Friends" featuring A$AP Rocky
- "This Thing We Call Love" featuring Channel Tres
- "ThunderWave" featuring WILLOW
- "Candlelight" featuring DOMi & JD Beck
A triumphant return and a standout release in contemporary music, Distracted is an essential listen and must-have CD for any modern jazz and R&B collection.
