The Chemical Brothers – Exit Planet Dust (Limited Edition Reissue)
Experience the definitive debut that reshaped the electronic landscape. Originally released in 1995 and presented here as a 2002 Limited Edition Reissue on Virgin, Exit Planet Dust is the quintessential "big beat" manifest. Certified platinum by the BPI, this album successfully bridged the gap between European post-techno and the stateside market, earning a reputation as one of the most influential dance records of all time.
The album is masterfully divided into two sonic halves: an all-out "speaker assault" of heavy beats followed by a restrained, psychedelic comedown. It features a relentless fusion of screeching guitar samples, sirens, and filthy basslines that defined the duo's signature sound.
Key Tracks & Highlights:
- "Leave Home": The hard-hitting opening statement.
- "Song to the Siren": A cacophonous, breakbeat-heavy fan favorite.
- "Chemical Beats": The track that helped define a genre.
- Includes guest vocal contributions from Tim Burgess and Beth Orton.
Critically acclaimed by NME, AllMusic, and Muzik—who named it the second-best dance album ever made—this CD is an essential cornerstone for any serious music collection.
