Released in 2014 via MelodicRock Records, Platens’ Out of the World marks a sophisticated return for the band, masterfully blending the emotional depth of progressive and symphonic rock with the polished hooks of classic AOR.
Driven by the creative force of Dario Grillo on vocals, guitars, and keyboards, the album showcases a dynamic range of styles. Whether the band is leaning into high-energy melodic hard rock or exploring blues-tinged Americana, the production creates a vast, open soundscape where every melody has room to breathe.
Key Highlights:
- Dynamic Variety: From the blistering pace of "You Won’t Bring Me Down" to the soulful, Hammond-drenched tones of "Don’t Leave Me Alone."
- Standout Covers: Includes an excellent interpretation of the iconic Rocky IV soundtrack anthem, "No Easy Way Out."
- Emotional Depth: Features a mix of introspective lyricism and soaring guitar work, particularly on the heartfelt track "Save Me."
Perfect for fans of melodic rock who appreciate a touch of progressive ambition, Out of the World is a compelling addition to any collection.
