Orbital, the legendary electronic duo, make a triumphant return with their ninth studio album, Monsters Exist. Released in 2018 via ACP Recordings, this CD marks the brothers' second comeback, capturing a dynamic and dramatic return to form that reconnects with their mind-expanding rave heyday.
While moving away from the darkness of earlier works, the album embraces a more polished, forward-driving sound. Listeners will find a blend of classic Orbital energy enhanced by "willowy" synths and high-production value. The record balances their signature "back to basics" approach with experimental touches, ranging from crowd-pleasing electronica to modern pop-influenced textures.
Key Highlights:
- "Tiny Foldable Cities": A standout, pleasant track that captures the duo's rhythmic precision.
- "The End Is Nigh": A bold experiment featuring layered female vocals and contemporary brostep-leaning pop elements.
- Classic Sound: Glazed with the "solid" energy that solidified the Hartnoll brothers as pioneers of the genre.
Whether you are a longtime fan or a new listener, Monsters Exist serves as a solid reminder of why Orbital remains a cornerstone of the electronic music scene.
