Dive into the raw, industrial origins of a provocation icon with Marilyn Manson – The Early Years Volume One.
Released in 2008 via Plastic Head Records, this expansive 3-disc compilation offers a rare glimpse into the formative era of the band before they became global superstars. Spanning the period when the group was deeply connected to Nothing Records and the Florida underground scene, this release captures the gritty energy that first caught the attention of Trent Reznor.
The set is meticulously organized to showcase the evolution of their sound:
- Disc 1: Features unique remixes and early cuts including "My Monkey (Strange Daze Remix)," "Man Son Of Sam (Persian Mix)," and "Same Strange Dogma (At Home Mix)."
- Disc 2: Collects foundational tracks that would later define the band’s aesthetic, such as "Dope Hat," "Lunch Box," "Misery Machine," and "White Knuckles."
- Disc 3: Provides essential context for collectors with insightful interview footage.
For fans of industrial rock and 90s alternative history, this unofficial box set is a vital artifact. It documents the transition from the "Spooky Kids" era toward the dark, hostile atmosphere of their sophomore success, making it a must-have for any serious Marilyn Manson completist.
