Faster Pussycat undergoes a radical sonic transformation in the 2001 release, Between the Valley of the Ultra Pussy. Released via Deadline Music, this album serves as a bold remix compilation that bridges the gap between the band's glam-metal roots and the cold, mechanical pulse of industrial rock.
Overseen by iconic frontman Taime Downe, the project re-imagines the band’s celebrated late-80s and early-90s hard-rock catalog. By stripping away the traditional sleaze-rock aesthetics in favor of industrial production, the album offers a polarizing yet fascinating glimpse into the evolution of the group's sound. Fans of experimental remixes will find plenty of outlandish arrangements, catchy electronic beats, and driving riffs that push the boundaries of the genre.
Key Highlights:
- Industrial Re-imagining: A complete stylistic overhaul of classic Faster Pussycat tracks.
- Taime Downe’s Vision: Direct creative involvement from the band’s original leader.
- Surprise Covers: Features a high-energy industrial-rock rendition of the Kiss classic, "I Was Made for Loving You."
Whether you are a completist or a fan of the early-2000s industrial movement, this CD is a unique, high-energy artifact from one of rock’s most adaptable bands.
