Experience the raw, high-voltage energy that defined 1970s pub rock with this 2006 remastered reissue of Dr. Feelgood’s monumental debut album, Down By The Jetty.
Originally released in 1975, Down By The Jetty captures the band at their most primal. Led by the inimitable Wilko Johnson’s frenetic guitar work and Lee Brilleaux’s gritty vocals, the album blends original compositions with blistering covers of R&B and rock classics. Renowned for its "amateurish charm" and an uncompromising decision to mix the original release in mono, the album remains a cornerstone of the UK rock scene.
Key Highlights:
- 2006 Remastered Reissue: Features the original album in mono, expanded with five essential bonus tracks.
- Cultural Legacy: Recognized by Uncut magazine as one of the 100 greatest debut albums ever made.
- Influential Power: A foundational release for punk and new wave legends, including The Jam, Blondie, The Ramones, and Paul Weller.
- Classic Tracks: Includes standout originals like "Keep It Out of Sight" alongside invigorated takes on standards like "Bonie Moronie" and "Tequila."
This definitive double-CD edition is an essential addition for fans of gritty, unapologetic, blues-infused rock.
