Released on October 24, 2011, via Victory Records, Until I Feel Nothing stands as the powerful fourth studio album from American deathcore titans Carnifex. This record marks a pivotal moment in the band's history, serving as the final release to feature lead guitarist Ryan Gudmunds and showcasing a sophisticated evolution of the band’s signature sound.
Produced by Tim Lambesis and the band itself, the album masterfully bridges the gap between the aggressive precision of their earlier work and the dynamic, atmospheric shift established on their previous record, Hell Chose Me. The result is a punishing 32-minute journey filled with tight riffage, crushing bass-dropped breakdowns, and unexpected melodic layers.
Key Highlights:
- Atmospheric Depth: Tracks like the haunting "Dead But Dreaming" and the atmospheric closer "Curse My Name" incorporate keyboard arrangements that add a majestic, black-metal-inspired backdrop.
- Standout Tracks: From the massive opening breakdown of "Deathwish" to the virulent intensity of "Creation Defaced," the album is a relentless, cohesive listening experience.
- Fan-Favorite Status: Regularly cited by long-time listeners as an absolute peak in their discography, blending aggressive melodies with raw, personal songwriting.
Experience the crushing intensity that solidified Carnifex's place in the modern metal scene with this essential deathcore classic.
