Bear in Heaven's acclaimed sophomore LP, Beast Rest Forth Mouth, is an expansive, hypnotic tour de force of neo-psychedelia, synthpop, and indie rock. The Brooklyn outfit masterfully blends live and electronic instrumentation, combining shimmering '80s-inspired synths with crushing rhythms and sharp pop sensibilities.
The record seamlessly moves between infectious, danceable grooves and wistful, ambient soundscapes, cementing its place as a standout release of the era. Key highlights include:
- "Lovesick Teenagers" – The irresistible lead single pairing euphoric, summery hooks with darker lyrical undercurrents.
- "Beast in Peace" & "Wholehearted Mess" – A thrilling one-two opening punch driven by mesmeric tribal beats and vibrant synth textures.
- "Dust Cloud" – A patient, enchanting track that builds into a towering crescendo of heavy, distorted guitars.
- "Ultimate Satisfaction" – A lush, wide-eyed gem showcasing the band's rich and dreamy melodic palette.
A must-have for collectors and fans of Yeasayer, Grizzly Bear, and Animal Collective, Beast Rest Forth Mouth remains a fresh, sonically rewarding addition to any CD library.
