Experience the expansive artistry of Barbarisms, the definitive 2014 release from Control Freak Kitten Records. This sprawling collection showcases a band defined by their love for musical exploration, effortlessly bridging the gap between progressive rock complexity and high-energy rock 'n' roll spirit.
At the heart of the album is lead singer Henri Eisenbaum, whose character-rich vocals have drawn comparisons to the legendary John Wetton. Across two distinct discs—"The Tracy Years" and "The Damian Years"—listeners are treated to an eclectic journey. From the warm, Hammond-organ driven melodies of standout track "The Reveal" to the unexpected, playful covers of classics like "Sweet Transvestite" and "Sheer Heart Attack," the album keeps you constantly engaged.
Key features of this release include:
- Dynamic Range: A masterful mix of progressive compositions, punk-infused rockabilly, and gothic-tinged ballads.
- Stellar Musicianship: Contributions from guitar virtuoso Dave ‘the snake’ Sabo and an evocative, Yes-influenced atmosphere.
- Comprehensive Collection: Featuring a vast array of studio tracks, live performances, and high-octane covers like Aerosmith’s "Rats In The Cellar."
Whether you are a completist of progressive rock or a fan of ambitious songcraft, Barbarisms is an elaborate, must-listen odyssey.
