Awake The Dreamer burst onto the global stage with their formidable debut full-length, Damaged Souls. Released via the powerhouse label Arising Empire, this album captures the Stockholm-based quartet at the peak of their early creative energy, blending the precision of Djent with the raw emotional power of modern Metalcore.
Formed from lifelong friendships, the band’s chemistry is evident in the album’s tight execution. Damaged Souls features 10 tracks characterized by "crunching guitar riffs," intricate soloing, and a dynamic vocal performance that seamlessly shifts between atmospheric whispers, melodic singing, and guttural growls. The release is bolstered by high-profile guest appearances from metal heavyweights, including Robert Ljung (Adept) on the track "Vigilant" and Ryo Kinoshita (Crystal Lake) on "Atmosphere."
Key Highlights:
- Genre: Metalcore / Djent / Post-Hardcore.
- Label: Arising Empire.
- Guest Features: Robert Ljung (Adept) and Ryo Kinoshita (Crystal Lake).
- Standout Elements: Hard-hitting percussion, technical guitar work, and heavy Nu-metal influences as heard on tracks like "Red Mist."
Perfect for fans of Northlane, Bad Omens, and Ice Nine Kills, Damaged Souls is a definitive entry in the Swedish metal scene that solidified Awake The Dreamer as a band to watch.
