AVKRVST – The Approbation (Inside Out Music)
Emerging from the deep, dark forests of Norway, AVKRVST’s debut album, The Approbation, is a 49-minute masterpiece of progressive soundscapes. Formed by childhood friends Martin Utby and Simon Bergseth, the band delivers a powerful concept album exploring the isolation of a soul grappling with the acceptance of death.
Sonically, the record captures the cold, gloomy atmosphere of a Nordic autumn, oscillating between lush, ethereal melodies and heavy, aggressive instrumentation. Fans of Opeth, Porcupine Tree, and Anekdoten will find themselves at home in its melancholic storytelling and masterful layering.
Key Features:
- Format: Limited Edition CD (Stereo).
- Concept: A cinematic journey of a man isolated in a remote cabin, left alone with his thoughts.
- Artwork: Striking cover imagery by renowned artist Eliran Kantor.
- Influences: Drawing inspiration from King Crimson, Mew, Neal Morse, and the progressive titans of the 90s and 2000s.
Experience the crushing gravity and dark beauty of one of 2023’s most compelling progressive debuts.
