CD Aukai – Game Trails

Aukai’s Game Trails is a masterful exploration of soundscapes that captured the title of Echoes "CD of the Month" upon its 2020 release. Following his nomadic journey across the globe, Markus Sieber—the creative force behind Aukai—crafted this third studio album while on the road, drawing deep inspiration from the dramatic landscapes of Iceland, Sweden, and the Yucatan jungle.

While rooted in Aukai’s signature delicate ronroco melodies, Game Trails pushes into new territory by integrating subtle electronics, pulsing synth lines, and evocative neo-classical arrangements. The album features a rich interplay between Sieber’s ronroco, the ethereal harp of Angelika Baumbach, and the sweeping cello lines of Anne Müller, known for her work with Nils Frahm.

Key Highlights:

• A World of Texture: A seamless blend of ambient, world fusion, folk, and modern electronics.
• Collaborative Depth: Enhanced by arrangements from Jamshied Sharifi and Alexander Nickmann.
• Standout Tracks: Experience the driving rhythm of “Solace,” the neo-classical elegance of “Soplo de Sueño,” and the haunting, cinematic mystery of “Afternoon Moon.”

Whether you are seeking introspection or an auditory escape into the wilderness, Game Trails offers a prism of light and sound—an essential addition for any atmospheric music collection.
