Released in 2005, Touch is the critically acclaimed second studio album from R&B vocalist Amerie. Marking an energetic evolution from her neo-soul debut, the record showcases an infectious blend of go-go beats, funky percussion, hip-hop loops, and an organic core powered by electric pianos and brass.
Primarily co-written by Amerie alongside producer Rich Harrison, Touch highlights her commanding vocal range and strong creative direction across upbeat rhythms and soulful grooves.
Track Highlights:
- "1 Thing" – The unstoppable, rhythm-heavy signature hit featuring a guest appearance by Eve.
- "Can We Go" – A warm, soulful duet featuring Carl Thomas with a sample of Earth, Wind & Fire's "Evil."
- "Falling" – A standout track driven by hip-hop loops and powerful, layered vocal harmonies.
- "Talkin' About" – A punchy single built on funky brass elements and dynamic basslines.
- "Just Like Me" – A gentle, melodic ballad co-written with Sunshine Anderson.
Celebrated by critics and fans alike, Touch earned two Grammy Award nominations—including Best Contemporary R&B Album—making it an essential addition to any 2000s R&B collection.
