Experience the legacy of one of England’s most essential hard rock acts with Wishbone Ash: Past & Present.
Released in 2008 as a comprehensive 2CD set via the Recall label, this compilation features 26 tracks that showcase the evolution and musical prowess of these guitar-harmony pioneers. Renowned as a landmark force in the early-to-mid 1970s, Wishbone Ash defined a unique sound by blending hard rock, progressive rock, and folk.
This collection highlights the band’s signature twin-lead guitar style—a technique that influenced generations of musicians and solidified their status as "under-acknowledged" legends of the classic rock era. From the complex arrangements that mirror their masterpiece Argus to the high-energy performance style later echoed in their Live Dates series, Past & Present serves as both a perfect introduction for new listeners and a vital piece of the puzzle for longtime collectors.
