Experience history in the making with The Beatles Tapes From The David Wigg Interviews. Originally recorded between 1968 and 1973 by renowned journalist David Wigg, this Polydor 1990 CD reissue provides a rare and intimate look into the world’s greatest band during their most volatile transition period.
These are not standard promotional clips; they are deep, candid conversations captured around the "White Album" and Let It Be sessions, stretching into the early years of their solo careers. The interviews offer firsthand wisdom and "Beatle sense" as the members discuss the slow disintegration of the band following the death of Brian Epstein, their time in India, and the evolution of their musical style.
Key Highlights:
- Authentic Insight: Features individual interviews with John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr.
- Critical Era: Fascinating commentary on the band’s breakup and their personal development as individual artists.
- Collector’s Edition: A 1990 CD reissue of the classic 1976 release, essential for the "die-hard Beatles buff."
- Historical Record: Includes John Lennon’s poignant reflections on the band’s "slow death" and the creative friction of their final albums.
Whether you are a completist or a student of pop culture history, these recordings are a vital document of the personalities that changed music forever. Add this essential piece of audio history to your collection today.
