CD Tangerine Dream – Ricochet

Experience a cornerstone of 1970s electronic music with this CD reissue of Tangerine Dream's acclaimed album, Ricochet. Originally released by Virgin Records in December 1975, the record captures the pioneering lineup of Edgar Froese, Chris Franke, and Peter Baumann at the height of their creative powers.

Serving as the band's first live album, Ricochet was crafted from tape recordings captured during their 1975 European tour—primarily performances in Bordeaux and Croydon—before being meticulously shaped and mixed at Virgin's Manor Studio. Atmospheric yet noticeably rockier and more rhythmic than previous studio efforts, the album weaves shifting sequencer patterns, inventive synthesizer manipulation, and ambient tone poems into a seamless sonic journey.

Track Listing Overview:

• Ricochet, Part One: A dynamic, propulsive piece built on driving sequencer rhythms and evolving electronic textures.
• Ricochet, Part Two: An expansive, atmospheric composition highlighting the trio's mastery of mood and melodic synth work.

Complete with the iconic coastal cover photograph by Monique Froese, this essential reissue belongs in the collection of any progressive electronic enthusiast.
