Steven Wilson steps out from his celebrated work with Porcupine Tree to deliver Insurgentes, his landmark first proper solo album. Recorded across the globe, the release showcases Wilson's masterclass production and engineering, collapsing elements of progressive rock, ambient textures, classical interludes, and doom metal into a rich, three-dimensional listening experience.
Weaving together sonic threads from his extensive catalog—including Bass Communion, Blackfield, and No-Man—Insurgentes takes listeners on an experimental, genre-defying journey bolstered by notable guest contributions.
Featured Tracks & Highlights:
- "Harmony Korine": The powerful, dynamic album opener.
- "Salvaging": A heavy, sludge-driven track featuring crushing guitar interplay.
- "Veneno Para Las Hadas": A delicate arrangement layered with pads and piano by special guest Jordan Rudess.
- "Insurgentes": A haunting title track accented by a traditional koto solo from Michiyo Yagi.
Released via Kscope, this comprehensive limited edition multi-media package is a must-have for progressive music collectors and audiophiles alike.
