Experience a landmark collaboration in music history with this 2006 CD maxi-single release of "Mas Que Nada," featuring the legendary Brazilian pianist and arranger Sérgio Mendes alongside The Black Eyed Peas.
This track represents a brilliant cultural bridge, blending Mendes' classic Bossa Nova heritage with the modern, high-energy hip-hop production of will.i.am. As will.i.am noted, the collaboration was a "dream realized," pairing complex Brazilian rhythms with a fresh, melodic rap delivery that centers on the universal appeal of samba and the joyous energy of the music.
Key Highlights:
- Artist Synergy: A fusion of master arranger Sérgio Mendes and the chart-topping Black Eyed Peas.
- Genre-Defying Sound: A vibrant mix of traditional samba roots and contemporary hip-hop beats.
- Historical Significance: Produced on Concord Records, this release revitalized a timeless Brazilian classic for a new generation, with will.i.am famously describing the collaboration as "rhythmically massaging" the listener.
