Scooter – Mind The Gap (Sheffield Tunes, 2004)
Experience the high-octane energy of Germany's techno legends with Mind The Gap, the tenth studio album from Scooter. Released in 2004 via Sheffield Tunes, this "Enhanced" edition captures the band at a creative crossroads, delivering a sound that H.P. Baxxter and company described as a bold departure from their previous works. The title itself serves as a warning: prepare for an excessive, relentless party experience.
This release is a masterclass in Scooter’s signature "hardcore-meets-pop" style, featuring a diverse range of covers and high-energy samples. Key highlights include:
- "One (Always Hardcore)": A fan favorite partially covering Bodylotion’s classic theme.
- "Jigga Jigga!": The massive hit that famously finished second in Germany’s Eurovision Song Contest national selection.
- "Shake That!": A funk-infused floor filler sampling KC and the Sunshine Band.
- Eclectic Covers: Reimagined versions of Depeche Mode's "Stripped," Sheryl Crow’s "All I Wanna Do," and the opera-inspired "The Chaser" from The Fifth Element.
Perfect for fans of Dune, Blümchen, and Charly Lownoise, Mind The Gap remains a pivotal moment in the Sheffield Tunes discography. Whether you are a hardcore fan or a techno enthusiast, this 2004 classic is a must-have for any electronic music collection.
