CD Saxon – Solid Ball Of Rock

Originally released in 1991, Solid Ball of Rock marked a triumphant turning point for Saxon, signaling a powerful return to their heavy metal roots after a period of commercial experimentation. This 2002 reissue from Steamhammer captures the British legends at their most spirited, blending the raw energy of the NWOBHM movement with a refined, beefy production.

Described by critics as "solid, ballsy rock," the album balances high-octane speed metal with melodic anthems. It is widely considered the precursor to the band's modern resurgence, standing as a must-have for fans of the classic Judas Priest and Iron Maiden sound. From driving riffs to charismatic vocals, the record maintains a high-energy vibe that shines through its powerful production.

• "Solid Ball of Rock": An Accept-style anthem featuring a heavy, infectious riff.
• "Requiem": A catchy, melodic tribute and fan-favorite anthem.
• "Baptism of Fire": A standout track for fans of classic speed metal.
• "Altar of the Gods": A nostalgic nod to the band’s iconic NWOBHM heritage.
