Experience the timeless elegance of "The Peggy Lee Collection," a sophisticated compilation released in 1999 as part of the acclaimed "HMV Easy" series (EMI).
Peggy Lee, born Norma Deloris Egstrom, remains one of the most influential figures in vocal jazz and popular music. Known for her "seductive, torch-song vamp" persona and an intimate, caressing vocal style, Lee's work on this collection highlights why she is considered a pioneer of the themed concept album. Her understated but instantly recognizable delivery has paved the way for generations of artists, from Joni Mitchell to Lana Del Rey.
This UK-pressed CD (Catalog No: 5222662), also referred to as the Nice 'n' Easy Collection, focuses on her legendary "Easy Listening" and Jazz repertoire. It serves as a definitive showcase of her "smouldering eroticism" and masterful melodic control.
