CD Kim Wilde – Kim Wilde

Rediscover the debut that launched a pop icon. Kim Wilde’s self-titled 1981 album remains a cornerstone of British new wave and synth-pop, marking the beginning of a career that saw Wilde become the most-charted British solo female act of the 1980s.

Produced by her brother Ricky Wilde and co-written with her father Marty Wilde, this record showcases a unique family partnership that blended infectious pop hooks with "idiosyncratic" lyrical themes. From the gritty urban decay of "Our Town" to the ska-inflected "2-6-5-8-0," the album balances commercial appeal with an experimental edge. Fans will recognize the legendary riff of "Kids in America," a track that defined the era's musical landscape.

• Kids in America: The quintessential new wave classic and chart-topping breakthrough.
• Water On Glass: A fascinating pop exploration of tinnitus.
• Diverse Soundscapes: Features everything from "rave-influenced bangers" to glam-rock-inspired stompers like "Rocket To The Moon."

This specific 1989 reissue under the Fame imprint is a unique collector's item, noted for its "Misprint" status. Whether you are a devotee of 80s synth-pop or a vinyl enthusiast expanding your CD library, this album represents Kim Wilde at her most commanding and influential.
