Experience the raw, legendary energy of Janis Joplin with this Columbia reissue of Janis – Early Performances. Highlighting the formative beginnings of one of music's most electrifying vocalists, this release offers an intimate look at the loud, rebellious, and utterly wild talent that defined her legacy.
Originating from the 1975 Janis collection, this compilation delivers seventeen archival early performances. Among these historic cuts are four standout recordings featuring the Dick Oxtot Jazz Band, alongside other rare early sessions that capture Joplin's unmistakable voice and blues-soaked delivery in its earliest stages.
Delivered in classic mono, this CD reissue preserves the authentic vintage textures and unpolished power of these foundational sessions. It is an indispensable addition to any Janis Joplin collection or classic blues-rock archive.
