Step into the legendary Global Underground series with GU015: Uruguay, a definitive mix compiled and mastered by the iconic Darren Emerson.
Released in 2000 on the Boxed label, this double-disc set captures the electric atmosphere of a historic set at the La Morocha club in Punta del Este. Bravely diverting from the then-standard progressive sound of the era, Emerson steered the GU ship into deeper, grittier techno territory. It remains a bold, expansive showcase of his vision, introducing listeners to heavy-hitters like Speedy J and Dave Clarke alongside acid house and disco-infused gems.
Whether you're a long-time collector or looking to discover a retrospective masterpiece of the millennium, Uruguay is an essential piece of electronic music history.
