CD+DVD Ben Craven – Last Chance To Hear

Australian composer and multi-instrumentalist Ben Craven delivers a masterclass in cinematic progressive rock with his 2016 release, Last Chance To Hear. Written and performed almost entirely by Craven, this ambitious concept album acts as a lavish, ironic celebration and requiem for the album format and the demise of the traditional music industry.

Brimming with rich atmospheres, orchestral flair, and melodic elegance, the music draws inspiration from the symphonic landscapes of late-’70s Pink Floyd, Yes, and The Alan Parsons Project. Craven blends soaring, emotive guitar work reminiscent of David Gilmour with expansive synthesizer textures and dramatic arrangements.

Release Highlights:

• "Spy In The Sky Part 3" – The record's theatrical centerpiece, featuring special guest spoken-word narration by William Shatner (engineered by Yes's Billy Sherwood).
• "Critical Mass Part 2" – An acclaimed track that earned the Australian Independent Music Award (AIMA) for Best Instrumental.
• "Last Chance To Hear (Parts 1 & 2)" – Dynamic title movements framed with organ swells, bombastic rhythm, and classic vinyl warmth.
• "Mortal Remains" – A poignant, subdued piano instrumental serving as the album's moving epilogue.

Available as a deluxe CD/DVD package, Last Chance To Hear is an essential collector's piece for fans of lush, story-driven symphonic prog.
