Bad Brains – Into The Future (2012)
Released via Megaforce Records, Into The Future serves as the ninth studio album from the legendary American rock pioneers, Bad Brains. Produced by Darryl Jenifer, this 13-track collection stands as a poignant tribute to Beastie Boys member Adam Yauch, a longtime friend and collaborator of the band who produced their previous effort, Build a Nation.
Critically well-received, the album was praised for successfully channeling the band's iconic "speed-demon" hardcore energy while seamlessly weaving in their signature dub-reggae textures, funk, and metal undertones. It captures the band in a reflective yet aggressive form, perfecting the genre-bending sound that has defined their legacy for decades.
Key Highlights:
- Genre: Hardcore Punk, Reggae, Alternative Metal
- Release Year: 2012
- Label: Megaforce Records
- Critical Reception: Holds a 74/100 score on Metacritic, with high praise from AllMusic, Revolver, and the Los Angeles Times.
This release is a essential addition for fans of the band's evolution, bridging the gap between their foundation-setting early hardcore days and their experimental musical spirit.
