CD Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers – Complete Concert At Club Saint Germain

Experience a legendary night in jazz history with Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers: Complete Concert At Club Saint Germain. This 2012 reissue from Master Jazz Records marks the first time the original three-LP set has been fully captured on CD, offering a much more expansive experience than previous single-disc highlights.

Recorded on December 21, 1958, during the final night of a residency in Paris, the album captures the definitive "Moanin’" era lineup in peak form. The band features Art Blakey on drums, Lee Morgan on trumpet, Benny Golson on tenor sax, Bobby Timmons on piano, and Jymie Merritt on bass. The atmosphere is electric, fueled by a lively club audience and a program that seamlessly blends then-fresh material from the Moanin’ sessions with hard-bop essentials.

• Includes definitive live versions of "Whisper Not," "Politely," and "Now’s the Time."
• Features extended performances of classics like "Evidence" and "A Night in Tunisia."
• Awarded a rare five-star review by Jazzwise for its dynamic solos and historic significance.
• A rare cameo by fellow drumming legend Kenny Clarke on the final tracks.

Vibrant, "unbuttoned," and historically vital, this compilation is an essential document for any serious jazz collector looking to experience the raw energy of the Messengers live on stage.
