CD Arctic Monkeys – AM

Arctic Monkeys – AM (Domino, 2013)

Originally released in September 2013, AM is the fifth studio album from English rock icons Arctic Monkeys. Widely regarded as a career-defining masterpiece, the album saw the band transition from indie nightlife chronicles to a sleeker, darker, and more "blue-black" aesthetic. Influenced by a diverse palette of indie rock, blues rock, and R&B, AM earned critical acclaim for its "Queen-sized" beats and slinky, nocturnal grooves.

Produced by James Ford and Ross Orton, and recorded at the legendary Rancho De La Luna, the album features guest appearances from Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age), Bill Ryder-Jones, and Pete Thomas. It won British Album of the Year at the Brit Awards and has been cemented in history on Rolling Stone and NME’s "Greatest Albums of All Time" lists.

Key Tracks:

• Do I Wanna Know? – Features the instantly recognizable "lizard-brain" riff and stomping percussion.
• R U Mine? – A high-octane rock anthem that set the tone for the record's heavy, rhythmic sound.
• Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High? – A chart-topping look at late-night longing and modern romance.
• No. 1 Party Anthem – A "wistful" piano-led centerpiece reminiscent of 70s rock balladeers.
• Knee Socks – A late-night tryst featuring operatic backing vocals from Josh Homme.

This CD edition is a must-have for collectors, capturing the Sheffield quartet at the peak of their global influence.
