Discover We Are, the compelling 2001 studio album from the avant-garde ensemble WR. Recorded and mixed at the renowned Fields Studio in Belgium, this release showcases a masterclass in intricate, multi-instrumental composition led by the acclaimed Belgian musician Daniel Denis.
The album features a sophisticated, lean lineup that imbues the music with a compact, agile energy. With a rich tapestry of instrumentation—including bassoon, oboe, marimba, and glockenspiel—the album balances dark, driving ostinato bass lines with airy, melodic textures.
Key Album Highlights:
- Expert Production: Mastered and engineered by Didier de Roos, capturing a pristine, atmospheric soundscape.
- Collaborative Brilliance: Features the virtuosic contributions of Michel Berckmans, Eric Plantain, and vibraphonist Bart Quartier.
- Distinctive Sound: A unique fusion of classical precision and forward-thinking arrangement that remains highly approachable and intense.
Whether you are a longtime follower of Daniel Denis or a newcomer to the Belgian avant-garde scene, We Are serves as an essential, high-fidelity addition to any discerning music collection.
