Whom Gods Destroy make their explosive debut with Insanium, a masterclass in modern progressive metal released via Inside Out Music. Formed by the powerhouse duo of Derek Sherinian (keyboards) and Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (guitar), this supergroup blends technical virtuosity with high-octane arena energy, drawing influences from legendary acts like Yes and Deep Purple through to contemporary metal heavyweights.
Featuring Dino Jelusić on vocals, Bruno Valverde on drums, and Yas Nomura on bass, Insanium is a sprawling musical odyssey that balances complex, shifting rhythms with massive, melodic hooks. The album showcases the band's ability to navigate between frantic, synth-heavy atmosphere and grooving, low-tuned aggression.
Key Highlights:
- Dynamic Lineup: A collaboration between world-class musicians with a shared vision for intense, melodic progressive metal.
- Stylistic Range: From the frantic instrumental energy of "Hypernova 158" to the swinging, arena-ready power of "Requiem" and the title track, "Insanium."
- Sonic Depth: A full, immersive production that highlights Sherinian's theatrical synths and Thal’s inventive guitar work.
Whether you are a fan of technical gymnastics or grand, melodic compositions, Insanium stands as a bold, ambitious entry into the progressive canon.
