Experience the cinematic elegance of The Last Shadow Puppets with the 2008 EP, My Mistakes Were Made For You. Released via Domino Records, this collection serves as a sophisticated evolution of the partnership between Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys) and Miles Kane (The Rascals). The title track is a standout piece of orchestral pop, featuring lush arrangements by the London Metropolitan Orchestra that evoke the grandeur of a classic Bond film.
This US-exclusive expanded EP captures the band at their most ambitious during their initial period of activity. Beyond the titular track, the release offers an intimate look at the duo's songwriting prowess through acoustic sessions and high-energy live performances of tracks from their Mercury-nominated debut, The Age of the Understatement.
Key features of this collection include:
- Orchestral Depth: Lush, string-heavy production reminiscent of Scott Walker and late-career Divine Comedy.
- Expanded Tracklist: Includes 8 tracks featuring acoustic versions of "Standing Next to Me" and "The Meeting Place," plus live recordings.
- Collaborative Guest Vocals: Features Alison Mosshart on the live version of "Paris Summer."
A must-have for collectors and fans of baroque-inspired indie rock, this EP remains a testament to one of the most compelling collaborations of the 2000s.
