Led by legendary drummer, singer, and producer Leon "Ndugu" Chancler, The Spread of the Future is the acclaimed 1979 debut from all-star soul-funk outfit The Chocolate Jam Co. Bringing together elite musicianship—including contributions from keyboardists George Duke and Ronnie Foster, Earth, Wind & Fire guitarist Al McKay, bassist Byron Miller, and vocalists Virginia Ayers, Leo Miller, and Maxi Anderson—the record stands as a defining peak of late-'70s studio funk.

Influenced by the vibrant sounds of Earth, Wind & Fire, George Duke, and Roy Ayers, the album effortlessly shifts from gritty, high-energy funk workouts to silky, romantic soul ballads. This limited edition remastered CD release from Sony Records Int'l delivers premium sound quality to an essential, in-demand release for funk collectors and crate diggers alike.

  • Key Tracks: "Spread of the Future", "A Chocolate Jam", "Just As You Are", "Looking Glass", "This Time"
  • Genre: Funk / Soul / Jazz-Funk
  • Edition: Remastered Limited Edition Reissue CD (Sony Records Int'l)
