Tangerine Dream – Tournado (1997)
Captured during their 1997 tour, Tournado stands as a definitive live document of Tangerine Dream’s atmospheric mastery. Recorded on April 23rd at a concert in Zabrze, Poland, this release offers fans an unvarnished, authentic concert experience.
In a bold move for the era, Tournado was released while the band was still on the road. Notably, it is the band's first live album to feature the performance exactly as it occurred on stage, intentionally omitting overdubs or post-production studio treatments. This release serves as a raw, honest window into the band's live sound during this period.
As one of the foundational releases on the band's own TDI Music label—established by Edgar Froese to gain full creative and production control—Tournado represents a significant milestone in Tangerine Dream’s independent journey.
