Experience the peak of space-rock majesty with Spiritualized – Royal Albert Hall, October 10, 1997 Live. Released in 1998 on the Deconstruction label, this limited edition double album captures Jason Pierce and his 15-piece ensemble during the legendary Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space tour. Often cited as one of the greatest live recordings of the era, this performance showcases the band’s transition from ethereal gospel-inflected melodies to controlled sonic chaos.
The album features 15 tracks that transform studio originals into expanded, surreal masterpieces. Critics and fans alike highlight the following standout moments:
- "Broken Heart": A breathtaking rendition featuring a quiet, haunting string section and prominent vocals, culminating in a "pure magic" harmonica outro.
- Dynamic Range: Transitions from "distant alien" whispers to heavy, "grimy" instrumental breaks that feel like crashing from outer space back to Earth.
- Atmosphere: A masterclass in psychedelic textures, blending loud, soaring brass with "crazy tones" and pummeling intensity.
For collectors of 90s indie and neo-psychedelia, this CD is an essential document of a band at the height of their powers, delivering a live experience that many argue "blows the original" studio versions away. Don't miss this chance to own a piece of Brit-rock history.
