Spiritualized – Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space (Sony Music Reissue)
Widely regarded as a flat-out masterpiece and the definitive high point of Jason Pierce’s career, Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space is a monumental achievement in 1990s rock. Originally released in 1997, this ambitious double album seamlessly weaves together elements of psychedelic rock, gospel, noise rock, and free jazz to create what many critics consider the "near perfection" of the space-rock genre.
The album serves as a poignant, 70-minute journey through the dual themes of heartbreak and drug use. From the iconic title track—which restores the "Can't Help Falling in Love" lyrics as originally intended—to the chaotic, jazzy epic "Cop Shot Cop…", the record is a sonic tour de force. This reissue celebrates the enduring legacy of an album that stood tall in a year of seminal releases by artists like Radiohead and The Verve.
Key Features & Tracks:- "Ladies and Gentlemen we are Floating in Space": The transcendental opening invitation.
- "Come Together" & "Electricity": High-energy, pulse-pounding tracks that build into massive walls of sound.
- "I Think I’m in Love": Featuring Pierce’s signature question-and-answer vocal style.
- Genre Fusion: A rich tapestry of brass, orchestral arrangements, and confessional songwriting.
- Authentic Presentation: Inspired by medicinal packaging, reflecting the album’s raw lyrical content.
Experience the definitive way to hear a 90s classic. This reissue is an essential addition for any serious collector looking to explore the beautiful pain and psychedelic heights of Spiritualized.
