Rediscover the gritty, soulful sounds of Chicago funk legends, Rasputin’s Stash.
Originally formed in the early 1970s by session musician Martin Dumas Jr., Rasputin’s Stash is a definitive "rare groove" favorite. This 2013 Cotillion reissue features state-of-the-art remastering, breathing new life into the band’s high-octane instrumental prowess and street-smart funk.
While the band didn't hit global superstardom during their initial run, their professional-level chops and unique "drug-savvy freakiness" earned them a lasting legacy, with their sound remaining highly influential among modern beat samplers. Throughout this self-titled debut, the group delivers a masterclass in 70s soul, combining tight horn arrangements with raw, rhythmic energy.
Key Highlights:
- Featuring the classic cut: "Your Love Is Certified" — a funk-fueled dancefloor essential driven by braced horn arrangements and iconic slide guitar.
- Remastered Audio: This 2013 CD reissue (Cotillion) offers a crisp, definitive listening experience in stereo.
- Essential Chicago Funk: A must-have for collectors of 70s rare groove and funk history.
If you crave authentic, session-grade funk with an edge, add Rasputin’s Stash to your collection today.
