Mayhem – Ordo Ad Chao (Limited Edition CD)
Experience one of the most influential forces in black metal history with the 2007 masterpiece, Ordo Ad Chao ("Order to Chaos"). As the fourth full-length studio album from the Norwegian legends, this release marks a definitive moment in the band's evolution, pushing the boundaries of the genre through raw, uncompromising sonic experimentation.
Moving away from traditional black metal production, Ordo Ad Chao is defined by a bass-heavy mix and intentionally raw, un-equalized drum sounds, capturing the band's dark, chaotic energy in its purest form. The album features complex and unorthodox song structures, most notably the blistering 9:40 epic, "Illuminate Eliminate."
Key Highlights:
- Award-Winning Excellence: Winner of the prestigious Spellemannprisen award in 2008.
- Commercial Success: The band’s highest-charting release, peaking at No. 12 on the Norwegian charts.
- Enhanced Edition: This limited edition release captures Mayhem at the height of their technical and atmospheric prowess.
A must-have for any serious black metal collection, Ordo Ad Chao remains a cornerstone of the Mayhem discography, proving why the band remains at the forefront of the scene they helped pioneer.
