Experience a definitive piece of Black Metal history with Mayhem’s Live In Leipzig.
Released via Peaceville Records, this essential reissue captures the legendary "classic" line-up in their prime. Often cited as one of the most important documents of the second-wave Scandinavian Black Metal scene, this performance is a raw, savage, and uncompromising look at the genre’s early days. Unlike the mystical atmosphere found on De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, this recording showcases the band’s direct Thrash and Venom influences, delivering a sound that is both captivating and historic.
This remastered edition preserves the original intensity while providing the best audio quality possible for such a notoriously gritty recording. For collectors and scholars of the genre, this release serves as a vital artifact of the 1990s Norwegian underground.
Key Highlights:
- Historic Line-up: The primary document featuring the iconic and tragic era of the band.
- Savage Tracklist: Includes blistering versions of "Necrolust," "Carnage," and "Pagan Fears."
- Essential Document: Widely regarded by critics and fans as a cornerstone release in the development of Black Metal.
- Remastered Sound: Optimized for CD, balancing the original "raw" energy with enhanced clarity.
Whether you are a seasoned devotee of the occult or a newcomer exploring the pillars of the genre, Live In Leipzig is a mandatory addition to your collection.
