Marvin Gaye - I Heard It Through The Grapevine (Pilz, 1993)
Experience one of soul music’s most enduring masterpieces with this 1993 reissue from the Pilz label. Originally released in 1968, this iconic Motown hit has been brought to CD with crisp, digital remastering that breathes new life into the track’s dark, pulsing bass line and soaring orchestral strings.
This release is a premium choice for both collectors and new listeners, highlighting the richly layered, soulful vocals of the legendary Marvin Gaye. It offers a comprehensive listening experience by including two distinct versions of the title track:
- The original 3:38 single version that dominated the charts.
- The extended 4:40 album take that originally appeared on the landmark 1968 album, In the Groove.
While the packaging maintains a modest and clean aesthetic, the focus remains entirely on the high-fidelity sound quality. This CD delivers the full emotional impact of the original recording, making it a faithful and essential addition to any soul or R&B collection.
