Experience the raw, unfiltered energy of New York punk royalty.
Originally formed in 1975 from the ashes of the New York Dolls, Johnny Thunders and The Heartbreakers were the bridge between the NYC underground and the UK punk explosion. This 1992 CD EP, released via Skydog International, captures the band that spearheaded the first wave of punk rock alongside legends like the Sex Pistols and The Clash.
Featuring the classic lineup of Johnny Thunders, Walter Lure, Billy Rath, and Jerry Nolan, the Heartbreakers were renowned for their high-voltage live performances and their seminal influence on the genre. While their studio history was often fraught with technical challenges—most notably the "muddy" initial mix of their 1977 masterpiece L.A.M.F.—releases on the Skydog label are essential artifacts for collectors looking to hear the band’s authentic, gritty sound.
