Immerse yourself in the purely orchestral side of Dutch symphonic heavyweights Epica with The Score – An Epic Journey. Released in September 2005, this unique album serves as the official soundtrack for the Dutch film Joyride and stands as an extraordinary, non-metal chapter in the band's catalog.
Rather than their signature metal instrumentation, the release focuses entirely on cinematic classical and melodic grandeur. Band founder Mark Jansen memorably described the record as typical Epica, "only without the singing, without the guitars, no bass, and no drums."
