Experience the high-octane debut that launched a melodic metal legacy with the 2024 reissue of Dokken – Breaking The Chains. Originally released under Elektra Records, this 1983 classic represents the foundational sound of one of the most iconic bands of the 80s hard rock scene.
Following its initial European run, the album was famously remixed and partially re-recorded for the US market, eventually climbing to No. 136 on the Billboard 200. This reissue captures that definitive Elektra sound, lauded by critics for its excellent balance between instruments and vocals, avoiding the "thin" production often found in early era releases.
The album is anchored by the powerhouse title track, "Breaking The Chains," featuring the legendary "ripping solos" of George Lynch and the energetic, catchy layered choruses that would become the band's hallmark. As a vital piece of the Elektra Albums era, this CD is an essential acquisition for fans of classic heavy metal and those looking to revisit the origins of Don Dokken's signature vocal harmonies.
