Experience the heavy-hitting fusion project from the minds of Public Enemy.
Released in 2000 on Artemis Records, Objects In The Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear is the debut studio album from the rap-rock supergroup Confrontation Camp. Led by the legendary Chuck D (appearing as Mistachuck), the group features Professor Griff, DJ Lord, and Kyle Jason, backed by the raw power of the band Chaingang.
Stepping away from the traditional hip-hop sound of Public Enemy, this release dives headfirst into aggressive funk-metal and "hardcore" rap-rock. Critics have compared the album’s grit and intensity to the likes of Body Count, Rage Against the Machine, and Clutch. It blends simple, driving guitar riffs with the political consciousness and commanding vocal presence that defined an era of protest music.
Key Highlights:
- Legendary Lineup: Features key members of Public Enemy including Chuck D and Professor Griff.
- Genre-Defying Sound: A high-energy blend of heavy metal, punk-influenced beats, and sharp lyrical delivery.
- Era-Defining Production: Released during the height of the rap-rock movement under the Artemis Records banner.
- Authentic Rawness: Described by reviewers as "windmill-inducing" and "remarkable" for fans of heavy, rhythmic crossover music.
Add this essential piece of Chuck D’s discography to your collection and hear what happens when hip-hop royalty meets the power of the riff.
