Experience the historic finale of an era. Black Sabbath’s 1978 release, Never Say Die!, serves as the definitive closing chapter for the band's original lineup, marking the final studio appearance of Ozzy Osbourne until the 2013 reunion. This 2016 reissue by Voice Music brings the remastered energy of a band pushing its creative boundaries to your CD player.
While maintaining the "muddy riffing" and "martial beats" that defined the Godfathers of Heavy Metal, this album showcases an ambitious evolution. The band transitioned from their blues-drenched roots toward a more sophisticated sound, incorporating synthesizers (featuring Rick Wakeman of Yes), strings, and brass to create a rich, textured listening experience.
Key Highlights:
- "Never Say Die": An arresting opening statement featuring acoustic punctuations and Ozzy’s signature clarified vocals.
- "Air Dance": A standout track that weaves jazz guitar interplay with piano and nuanced guitar work by Tony Iommi.
- A Rare Time Capsule: A tight, hard-rocking recording that captures the experimental spirit of the late 70s.
Essential for hardcore fans and collectors, this remastered reissue is a fascinating look at the "Unholy Trinity" of metal as they expanded their musical arsenal. Don't miss this crucial piece of Black Sabbath history.
