Palomine is the critically acclaimed 1992 debut studio album by Dutch indie rock outfit Bettie Serveert, released on the 4AD subsidiary label Guernica. Recorded at Sound Enterprise Studio in Weesp, Netherlands, the album instantly placed the band on the international alternative map with its melodic indie pop hooks and searing, dynamic guitar work drawing comparisons to Neil Young and the Velvet Underground.
Driven by Carol van Dijk's distinctive vocals and guitar, Peter Visser's expressive leads, Herman Bunskoeke's basslines, and Berend Dubbe's percussion, Palomine captures the quintessential charm and bruised romanticism of early '90s indie rock.
Featured Tracks:
- "Tom Boy" – The beloved lead single.
- "Palomine" – The melodic title track that charted on the UK Singles Chart.
- "Kid's Allright" & "Brain-Tag" – Standout tracks highlighting the quartet's songwriting prowess.
