After an eleven-year hiatus, Finnish epic symphonic metal titans Battlelore return to the battlefield with their triumphant seventh studio album, The Return Of The Shadow. Released via Napalm Records in 2022, this record marks a powerful comeback for a band that has defined the intersection of heavy metal and Middle-earth inspired fantasy since the turn of the millennium.
The Return Of The Shadow delivers nine tracks of blistering metal, capturing the atmosphere fans know and love. The release also includes a special bonus EP featuring tracks written around the time of the band's previous hiatus, offering a slightly more folk-influenced, epic sound that serves as a perfect complement to the main album.
Key Highlights:
- Epic Scale: A massive return for the Finnish legends, featuring nine Middle-earth themed tracks.
- Bonus Content: The CD edition includes a special bonus EP of archival material with a unique, folk-infused edge.
- Standout Tracks: Includes the atmospheric "Firekeeper," the intense "Shadow of the East," and the narrative-driven "Orcrist."
- Genre: Epic Symphonic/Melodic Death Metal.
Wield your sword and rejoin the journey—The Return Of The Shadow proves that Battlelore hasn't lost a single step.
