Barbie Almalbis – Parade (2006)
Following her tenure as the frontwoman of the iconic alternative rock band Barbie’s Cradle, Barbie Almalbis stepped into the spotlight with her solo debut, Parade. Released in 2006 under 12 Stone Records, this album signifies a pivotal transformation in her career, marking her transition from band frontwoman to a celebrated solo singer-songwriter in the OPM (Original Pilipino Music) scene.
Parade captures the signature blend of sweet, soulful vocals and introspective songwriting that defines Almalbis’ artistry. Moving beyond the alternative pop-rock foundations of her previous work, the album showcases her evolution as a solo musician while maintaining the melodic hooks and sincerity that resonated with fans throughout the late 90s and early 2000s Pinoy rock boom.
